Research Abstract

I am a thoracic oncologist and former systems neuroscientist whose work bridges computational modeling and clinical oncology to advance AI for cancer early detection. My research focuses on lung cancer screening and diagnostics, with an emphasis on building, validating, and implementing image-based machine learning models for lung cancer risk prediction. In particular, our group co-developed Sybil, an internationally validated 3D convolutional neural network that predicts 6-year lung cancer risk from a single chest CT.
