Research Abstract

The Agudo lab is interested in dissecting how the immune system interacts with cancer stem cells with a main focus on antigen-specific CD8 T cells. More specifically, we study immunity during tumor initiation and immune surveillance of dormant disseminated and pre-metastatic stem cells to understand how they evade cellular immunity. Our ultimate goal is identifying mechanisms of immune evasion to improve cancer immunotherapy approaches.
