I am a thoracic medical oncologist at Massachusetts General Brigham, Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and a clinical investigator in the Cancer Outcomes Research and Education (CORE) Program. My research goals are to improve the quality of life of people with lung cancer and cancer survivorship care. Due to advances in lung cancer therapies, there is a growing population of lung cancer survivors. Evidence-based and scalable interventions to address the supportive care needs of this population are critical. I aim to develop interventions and clinical programs to help support those who are living longer with lung cancer yet are facing symptoms related to their cancer, cumulative toxicities of treatment, and uncertainty about the future. With support from the Cancer Survivorship Research Grant from the Massachusetts Society of Clinical Oncologists, I am currently the principal investigator of a clinical study exploring the patient and caregiver experience of living with lung cancer with brain metastases with respect to adapting to and coping with changes in neurocognitive and physical function and uncertainty about the future.
