Research Abstract

My research concerns allocation of health resources and the use of analytical tools to guide resource allocation decisions. My current work relating to cancer includes the following: I do methodologic research on cost-effectiveness, decision modeling and preference assessment for economic evaluation of medical and public health interventions. My research on HIV and HCV policy modeling involves costs and outcomes of associated cancers. I am collaborating on a study of costs and outcomes for active surveillance of thyroid cancer, with Dr. Carrie Lubitz, M.D. (MGH/HMS), and a Ph.D. Student whom I supervise. I am advising a Ph.D. Student in a decision analysis of alternative active surveillance protocols for prostate cancer. I have participated as a faculty advisor in the Program on Cancer Outcomes Research Training, in which capacity I supervise PhD students and post-doctoral fellows.
