COE

The mission of the Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) Program is to ensure that the Harvard Cancer Consortium (HCC) translates scientific discovery into measurable reductions in the burden of cancer for the residents of Massachusetts and beyond. Through sustained partnerships with community organizations, health systems, and other stakeholders across the Commonwealth, COE expands access to cancer prevention, screening, treatment, survivorship, and clinical trials, while advancing health equity.

COE serves as the vital bridge between HCC and the communities it serves. By fostering authentic, bidirectional engagement, we ensure that HCC research, programs, and interventions are responsive to community priorities, needs, and lived experiences. At the same time, we connect communities with the expertise, resources, and innovations available across HCC institutions.

Through these partnerships, COE catalyzes community-engaged research, promotes equitable participation in clinical trials, monitors the cancer burden across Massachusetts, and accelerates the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based discoveries. Together, these efforts strengthen the relevance, reach, and impact of HCC's research and improve cancer outcomes for communities throughout the Commonwealth.
